Fresno Police Hunt Armed Suspect After Uber Driver Shot in Dispute

URGENT UPDATE: Fresno police are actively searching for Maurice Session, the armed suspect who shot an Uber driver during a heated dispute on the night of July 13, 2023. The incident unfolded shortly after 8:13 p.m. in southwest Fresno, near East George Avenue and South Tupman Street.

Authorities report that the driver had picked up a male and female passenger when a verbal altercation escalated. The male passenger allegedly slapped the driver, prompting him to demand that both passengers exit the vehicle. As the driver attempted to drive away, he informed the suspect of his intent to call the police, at which point Session pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots, grazing the driver’s head. The vehicle sustained at least three bullet impacts.
