Urgent Food Drive to Combat Hunger in Santa Clarita on Dec. 5

UPDATE: An urgent food drive to support families facing food insecurity is set for December 5, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cedarcreek Elementary School in Canyon Country. Hosted by Academy of the Canyons junior Diya Boini in partnership with the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, this initiative aims to collect essential food items for those in need.

Residents are encouraged to bring a variety of non-perishable food items, including grains, canned goods, instant oatmeal, dried beans, pasta, cereal, and other dry foods. The community’s support is vital in ensuring that local families do not go hungry during this challenging time.

This food drive comes as many in the Santa Clarita Valley struggle with food insecurity, a growing concern that affects countless families. With the holiday season approaching, the need for assistance becomes even more pressing.

Boini emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating,

“Every can and every grain helps to make a difference in someone’s life. Together, we can ensure that no family in our community faces hunger this season.”

For those looking to contribute, the event will take place at 27792 Camp Plenty Road, and all donations are welcome. If you have questions or need further information, you can reach out via email at [email protected].

This is an opportunity for everyone to join in the fight against hunger and support our neighbors in need. Mark your calendars and prepare to make a difference!
