Batavia Opens New Police Station, Operations Move December 8

URGENT UPDATE: The City of Batavia is set to officially open its new police station at 31 Bank Street on Monday, December 8. This major shift in local law enforcement operations is designed to enhance public safety and service in the community.

Beginning next week, all police activities will transition to the new facility, which aims to provide better resources and accessibility for residents. The building’s lobby will be open to the public on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., allowing residents to engage directly with local law enforcement.

However, residents should note that Alva Place will be closed from Bank Street to the Batavia City Center parking lot until construction is fully completed. Alternative parking is available at the Batavia City Center lot, ensuring public access during this transition.

Police officials have confirmed that the department’s phone number will remain unchanged. Residents can still reach the non-emergency line at (585) 345-6350 for assistance.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house will take place at a later date, promising an opportunity for the public to tour the new facility and meet their local officers.

This development comes as part of Batavia’s ongoing efforts to improve community safety and police services. Stay tuned for more updates as the city prepares for this significant move.
