This momentous victory occurred on December 9, 2023, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, joining the ranks of legends David Taylor and Zahid Valencia.
Bassett capped off his historic performance with an electrifying 14-6 major decision over Joe Bachmann, a two-time Ironman champion from Faith Christian Academy. “I absolutely love it,” Bassett exclaimed after the match. “He came out ready to fight… That was fun.” The crowd erupted as Bassett showcased his relentless spirit throughout the intense match.
The bout began with an early attack from Bassett, but Bachmann countered and executed a takedown with just 25 seconds remaining in the first period, sending the audience into a frenzy.
