Suspect Arrested in Fatal Riverside Stabbing of 35-Year-Old

UPDATE: A 34-year-old man has been arrested following the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old Moreno Valley resident, identified as Jullian Hughes. The incident unfolded at approximately 12:20 p.m. on December 9, 2023, in the 3700 block of University Avenue, Riverside, California.

Authorities responded swiftly to reports of a stabbing and found Hughes suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

The suspect, identified as John Larry Perryman, fled the scene but was apprehended later near 14th Street and Segewick Avenue. He has been booked on suspicion of murder and is scheduled to appear in court next week, according to a statement from the Riverside Police Department.
