Tom Thumb Expands Presence with Two New Supermarkets in Dallas

The supermarket chain Tom Thumb has opened two new locations in the Dallas area, enhancing its presence in this vibrant market. The new stores, located in Sanger and Sunnyvale, aim to cater to local communities with a wide range of grocery options and services.

New Store Openings

The first of the two stores debuted on December 12, 2023, in Sanger at 1413 W Chapman Drive. Spanning 50,000 square feet, this location boasts tens of thousands of items, including over 1,000 local products. Customers can enjoy a comprehensive selection of services, including a bakery, deli, meat and seafood counters, produce, and floral arrangements. An in-store Starbucks coffee kiosk, pharmacy with a drive-thru, and a Drive-Up-N-Go grocery pick-up service further enhance the shopping experience.

Division President Bill Neve expressed excitement about the new Sanger store, stating, “We are so excited to open this Tom Thumb for the Sanger communities. Tom Thumb is excited to showcase our full-service grocery store and fresh new items that customers in Sanger will love.”

Shortly thereafter, on December 17, 2023, another Tom Thumb will open in Sunnyvale at 3400 N. Belt Line Rd. This location is slightly larger, covering 59,000 square feet, and will welcome its first 300 shoppers with complimentary bags of groceries, along with enticing deals and offerings for all customers.

Store Features and Offerings

Similar to the Sanger location, the Sunnyvale store will include a bakery, deli, meat and seafood sections, produce, and floral displays. Notably, it will also feature an in-store Starbucks kiosk, which is the first Tom Thumb to offer mobile ordering in addition to traditional in-store ordering. Neve expressed gratitude towards the Sunnyvale community, saying, “We are incredibly grateful to the town of Sunnyvale for their support of this new store and have been looking forward to meeting our newest customers and welcoming them into their Tom Thumb.”

Both stores are designed to meet diverse customer needs with a variety of prepared food options, including in-store sushi, a full-service salad case, and a hot food line. Each location offers more than 400 cheese and charcuterie items and boasts what is described as “the best fried chicken in town.”

In the bakery section, patrons can find bread baked fresh daily, desserts, and an expert cake decorator on staff. The stores will also feature unique items such as Christie’s cookies and Blue Bell ice cream cakes. Floral offerings include Texas-grown poinsettias during the holiday season, various bouquets, and arrangements, as well as FTD service and a balloon bar.

The meat and seafood departments will offer a selection of USDA choice and prime beef, organic and grass-fed options, with seafood available for steaming at no extra charge. Additionally, customers can choose from over 1,000 wines and 85 local Texas craft brews.

At the Starbucks coffee kiosks, trained baristas will prepare a range of beverages, including Nitro and Cold Brew options, along with an assortment of pastries.

With these new openings, Tom Thumb reinforces its commitment to serving local communities in the Dallas area with quality products and services, aiming to create a welcoming shopping environment for all customers.
