Peyton Sheaffer dominated the court, scoring an impressive 26 points and showcasing his shooting prowess by hitting 9 of 10 attempts from inside the arc and going 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. His consistent scoring across all four quarters propelled the Mountaineers to an early lead, as they finished the first quarter with a staggering 19-2 advantage.
Freshman guard Ryder Martin contributed significantly with 14 points, while Nehemiah Linson added 13 points to the scoreboard. The Timberwolves struggled throughout the game, unable to recover from the early deficit, even as the running clock was enforced due to the growing lead.
Timberwolves head coach Kevin Dunlap expressed concern over his team’s performance, stating, “We got a lot of little things we got to work on and I’m glad we have the break to find ourselves. We’re seeing good things in spurts.” The Timberwolves remain winless this season, now holding a record of 0-6 overall and 0-4 in C2BL.
Looking ahead, Morton-White Pass will host two games in the new year, facing Napavine on January 2 and Coupeville on January 3. Meanwhile, Rainier will travel to Eatonville for their next match on December 29, aiming to build on this momentum.
