Four members of the St. Joseph Fire Department have been promoted to significant positions this December, reflecting their dedication and service to the community. The promotions include two new captains and a fire inspector, marking a notable advancement in the department’s leadership.
Promotions Overview
The promotions were officially announced by St. Joseph Fire Chief Ivan Klippenstein, highlighting the commitment and experience of the individuals involved. On December 29, Ryan Millush transitioned from driver to captain after 16 years of service. Millush, now donning the distinguished red helmet, is poised to take on increased responsibilities within the department.
Another significant promotion took place on December 18, when Andy Peterson advanced from driver to fire inspector. The department’s announcement emphasized Peterson’s dedication, stating, “Andy’s dedication and hard work continue to make a positive impact within our department and community.”
New Leadership Roles
On December 17, Matt Hill was also promoted from driver to captain. Having served for 14 years, Hill will now wear a new badge and helmet as he steps into leadership duties.
Moreover, Mark Haenni was promoted to training officer on December 16, moving up from his position as captain. Haenni’s new role will focus on guiding new recruits and ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges they will encounter in the field. The department noted, “Mark’s leadership, experience, and dedication play a vital role in preparing our firefighters for the challenges they face in the field.”
