Donut Lab Unveils Revolutionary EV Battery for Verge Motorcycles

BREAKING: Donut Lab has just unveiled a game-changing solid-state battery for electric motorcycles at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, setting a new standard in the EV industry. This innovative battery, now available for select Verge models, promises an exceptional energy density of 400 watt-hours per kilogram (Wh/kg) and can achieve a full charge in an astonishing five minutes.

This advancement addresses critical concerns for electric vehicle owners, particularly regarding range and charging times. The solid-state battery technology, which features solid electrolytes instead of flammable liquid ones, not only enhances safety but also boosts performance. Donut Lab’s CEO, Marko Lehtimäki, stated, “At Donut Lab, our answer on solid-state batteries being ready for use in OEM production vehicles is now, today, not later.”

The 2026 Verge TS Pro, which will be equipped with this cutting-edge battery, boasts an impressive 737 pound-feet of torque and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. This electric motorcycle can reach a top speed of 124 mph and offers a range of up to 217 miles in the city and 124 miles on highways.

For those looking for extended range, an optional high-capacity battery can push the total range to 370 miles, available for an additional $5,000. The Verge TS Pro starts at $29,900, with reservations now open on the Verge website for a $100 deposit. However, delivery for the TS Pro is tentatively scheduled for Q1 2026, with no exact date yet confirmed.

Solid-state battery technology represents a significant leap forward in electric vehicle design, promising not only greater safety with reduced risk of thermal runaway during charging but also higher energy efficiency. The potential impact on the EV market is huge, as manufacturers increasingly prioritize these advancements to attract eco-conscious consumers.

The Verge TS Ultra, another exciting model, is also in the spotlight, starting at $44,900 and achieving a breathtaking 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds thanks to its massive 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque.

As electric vehicles continue to gain traction, this breakthrough from Donut Lab could reshape the landscape of electric motorcycles, making them more accessible and user-friendly for enthusiasts and everyday riders alike. Stay tuned for more updates on this evolving story as the electric vehicle revolution accelerates.
