Chris Pratt Shares Unique Holiday Gifts from Father-in-Law Arnold Schwarzenegger

Chris Pratt recently opened up about the “massive” holiday gifts he received from his father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger. During an appearance on “The Graham Norton Show” in the UK, Pratt described a striking custom portrait painting that showcases his three children alongside Schwarzenegger dressed as Santa Claus. The actor, who has been married to Schwarzenegger’s daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger, since 2019, shared that the painting measures an impressive six feet by eight feet.

When host Graham Norton asked about Schwarzenegger’s festive spirit, Pratt responded, “His love language is giving gifts, that’s for sure. He just goes all out with his gifts.” The portrait features Pratt’s children, Lyla Maria, Eloise Christina, and Ford Fitzgerald, peeking around a Christmas tree while Santa enjoys a cookie. The audience responded with laughter as Norton quipped about the challenge of displaying such a large gift throughout the year.

Pratt, acknowledging the portrait’s size, expressed uncertainty about its storage. “It’s big. It’s enframed and it’s a big massive canvas,” he explained. He also referred to it as “a wonderful decoration” and “a very thoughtful gift” for his family. Pratt and Schwarzenegger have a close relationship, often sharing moments that highlight their familial bond.

More Unique Gifts from Schwarzenegger

In addition to the elaborate portrait, Pratt received another distinctive present from his father-in-law—a pair of crocodile boots that Schwarzenegger had worn in a movie. Pratt humorously noted that they share the same shoe size, making the gift even more fitting. During the show, comedians Dawn French and Rob Becket teased him about the boots, suggesting they were merely “regifted” but nonetheless iconic. Pratt defended the gift, reminding the audience of its significance.

The dynamic between Pratt and Schwarzenegger extends beyond holiday gifts. In a previous interview with “New York Live” in 2021, Pratt mentioned that Schwarzenegger often quotes his famous movie lines when they are together. “He does it all the time,” Pratt shared, recalling how Schwarzenegger would famously announce, “I’ll be back.” Pratt humorously noted his own attempt at delivering a similar line in a recent film, which he felt paled in comparison to Schwarzenegger’s iconic delivery.

Their mutual respect is evident, as Schwarzenegger publicly praised Pratt’s performance in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” which was released in 2023. He tweeted, “I saw #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 last night and WOW. @prattprattpratt, you crushed it. A non-stop, perfect mix of comedy and action. I loved it and I’m very, very proud of you.”

As the festive season approaches each year, it appears that gifts from Schwarzenegger will continue to make a memorable impact on Pratt and his family, blending humor, thoughtfulness, and a touch of Hollywood nostalgia.
