The Denver Broncos are leveraging their home-field advantage ahead of the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots on January 19, 2026. To ensure a strong presence of local fans at the game, the Broncos have restricted ticket sales to those with billing addresses within the Rocky Mountain region. This strategy aims to prioritize Broncos supporters as they compete for a coveted spot in the Super Bowl.
In a statement, Broncos chief communications officer Patrick Smyth confirmed that the limited number of tickets made available for purchase was exclusively accessible to fans residing in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota, and western Kansas. Smyth noted, “As we’ve done for previous AFC Championship Games, the extremely limited number of single-game tickets on sale for Sunday was restricted to the Rocky Mountain Region to prioritize Broncos fans.”
The Broncos have a significant reason to implement this strategy. More than 98 percent of their season ticket members opted in for playoff tickets, leaving only a few thousand tickets for general sale. These tickets sold out rapidly, with purchases completed within 24 hours of being released.
The practice of geofencing ticket sales is not new for the Broncos. Since 2011, the team has collaborated with Ticketmaster to impose geographic restrictions on ticket availability for postseason home games. This limitation applies only to tickets sold directly by the Broncos. Fans can still acquire tickets through secondary markets such as Ticketmaster and StubHub.
As of the latest updates, available tickets on Ticketmaster were in the 300 level, starting at approximately $1,240 per seat. Verified resale tickets in the 500 level began around $500, while single tickets on StubHub were listed starting at $577.
The Broncos’ decision to restrict ticket sales underlines their commitment to fostering a supportive atmosphere for their team during an important playoff matchup. As anticipation builds for the showdown against the Patriots, local fans can look forward to a thrilling contest in a stadium filled with familiar faces.
