The Trojan Connections chapter of Business Network International (BNI) in Troy, Alabama, celebrated significant success on January 27, 2025, by presenting a check that represents over $2.1 million in local business generated among its members within just 16 months of operation. This achievement underscores the group’s commitment to fostering professional relationships that drive business referrals.
Building Community Through Business Relationships
Founded in 2024, Trojan Connections comprises a diverse group of business owners and managers who meet weekly to share insights and promote each other’s enterprises. Kenneth Green, the co-founder and president of Trojan Connections, emphasized the importance of building a strong network. “We’re all about growing each other’s businesses and sharing business,” he stated. “Our membership is one person from each industry or business in our group. There are never two people from the same industry; it’s first-come, first-served in that sense.”
The group’s structured approach to membership ensures that each member represents a unique industry, allowing for a variety of referrals and collaboration opportunities. According to Green, the weekly meetings help members develop a deeper understanding of one another’s businesses, which facilitates more effective referrals.
In its inaugural year, Trojan Connections generated more than $1 million among its members, building on that momentum to reach the impressive $2.1 million mark. Bill Keene, BNI Area Director, praised the chapter’s accomplishments, noting, “No chapter that I manage has done $2.1 million in that time frame. The money is going into the local business community, and some of it was likely business that would have gone outside of the community.”
Community Impact and Future Goals
During the check presentation, Trojan Connections highlighted the positive impact of their efforts on the local economy. The funds generated represent a significant contribution to Troy’s business landscape, helping to keep valuable resources within the community. Keene remarked that Trojan Connections is one of five BNI chapters that surpassed $1 million in business referrals in 2025, showcasing the strength of relationship-building in driving local economic growth.
Mayor Jason Reeves of Troy expressed gratitude to the group during the event, stating, “This is fantastic. This means a lot to our community, and you all mean a lot to our community. You realize that you’re more together, and that means a lot to us all. Thank you for what you do and thank you for what you’re doing together.”
As Trojan Connections continues to grow, it remains committed to supporting local businesses and fostering a collaborative environment. For more information about Trojan Connections and its activities, interested parties can visit their website at https://tinyurl.com/trojanconnections.
