Remarkable College Career
Caldeira enjoyed a remarkable four-year tenure at WVU, beginning in 2020. Over the course of 84 games, he made 77 starts and accumulated a total of 5,956 minutes on the field. He netted 42 goals and provided 15 assists, placing him second all-time in Mountaineer history for goals scored. His performance in the previous season was particularly notable, as he recorded a career-high 14 goals, leading the Sun Belt Conference.
In addition to his scoring prowess, Caldeira topped the conference with 35 points and was named the Sun Belt Player of the Year. His ability to perform under pressure was evident as he ranked fourth in the nation with six game-winning goals. He also made a significant impact in matchups against in-state rival Marshall, scoring three goals in two games. Notably, he achieved a hat-trick in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against St. John’s.
His impressive performance continued into the following season, where he scored 11 goals and earned a spot on the All-Sun Belt second team. Caldeira’s contributions were vital in helping WVU secure the Sun Belt Conference Championship. In his sophomore year, he again led the Sun Belt, finishing with 12 goals and receiving accolades as a second-team All-American from United Soccer Coaches, along with first-team All-Sun Belt honors.
Aiming for Professional Success
In his freshman year, Caldeira played in 18 games, starting 15, and scored five goals while providing four assists. His consistent performance throughout his college career has set high expectations for his professional future.

I can’t wait to get started and contribute to the continued success of this club, its supporters, and the incredible atmosphere that Allianz Field brings.” He also acknowledged the support from the club staff since draft day and emphasized his readiness to make a lasting impact.
Last season, MNUFC finished fourth in the Western Conference, indicating a strong foundation upon which Caldeira hopes to build as he transitions to the professional level.
