Days Inn in Wildwood Sold for $7.275 Million

A hotel located near a key interchange along Interstate 75 in Sumter County has been sold for a substantial sum of $7.275 million. The property, known as the Days Inn by Wyndham, is situated at 551 State Road 44 in Wildwood. The transaction took place on January 20, 2024, when Villages Hospitality LLC sold the hotel to Gunatit Hospitality LLC.

The Days Inn occupies a 3.519-acre site and features a hotel structure that dates back to 1966. Its prime location at the intersection of State Road 44 and Interstate 75 places it near the Pilot Travel Center, making it an attractive option for travelers.

Corporate records indicate that Gunatit Hospitality is owned by eight family members, all of whom share the surname Patel, with their registered address in Wesley Chapel. This family-owned company will manage the newly acquired property, continuing a trend of family-run businesses in the hospitality sector.

In 2018, Villages Hospitality LLC had purchased the Days Inn for $6 million, reflecting a notable increase in the property’s value over the past several years. This sale is part of a broader trend of significant commercial property transactions happening in Sumter County.

For instance, in late February, the Spruce Creek Terrace Shoppes, a multi-building retail and office center located at 17860 SE 109th Avenue in Summerfield, was sold for $13.475 million. Earlier in January, the Better Times RV Community in Lake Panasoffkee changed hands for $3.05 million, while a property along County Road 470 was acquired for $12.4 million by Inter Continental Real Estate Development in late December.

As the commercial real estate market in Sumter County continues to thrive, many are keeping a close eye on these developments, which reflect growing investment interests in the region.
