Production has officially commenced for the highly anticipated third season of *Euphoria*, with a targeted release in 2026. This season is expected to be the final installment of the acclaimed series, which stars Zendaya as Rue Bennett. The announcement was made by JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming for HBO/Max parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, during the Wells Fargo TMT Summit.
Filming for Season 3 began on February 10, 2025, in Los Angeles. As the series moves forward, viewers can expect both returning and new faces in the cast. Notably, Hunter Schafer will reprise her role as Jules Vaughn, alongside other series regulars including Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow.
In a significant shift, the show will welcome several newcomers to its roster. Among them are musician Rosalía, Super Bowl champion Marshawn Lynch, and actor Kadeem Hardison. Additionally, Sharon Stone is set to make a guest appearance, alongside 18 other new actors, further expanding the show’s narrative possibilities.
While many beloved characters will return, some familiar faces will be absent. Barbie Ferreira, who portrayed Kat Hernandez in the first two seasons, confirmed her departure from the series due to creative differences. Tragically, the loss of Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, following his untimely death at age 25 in the summer of 2023, has deeply affected the cast and crew. Additionally, characters played by Storm Reid, Algee Smith, Nika King, and Austin Abrams will not be returning for this season.
The creative team behind *Euphoria* remains intact, with Sam Levinson returning as the writer, director, and executive producer. He continues to collaborate with A24 and other executive producers, ensuring the show’s distinctive vision endures. Notable returning crew members include Julio C. Perez, IV as supervising editor and Marcell Rév as director of photography.
This season will feature a significant narrative shift, with a time jump moving characters beyond high school. The season is slated to consist of eight full-length episodes, as confirmed by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, in July 2024.
While discussions have occurred regarding the potential conclusion of the series, Bloys emphasized that viewers should expect a satisfying resolution for the characters. As Francesca Orsi, HBO Head of Drama, stated, “We’ve talked about it… this is the end.” The anticipation surrounding *Euphoria* Season 3 remains high, with fans eager to see how Levinson and his team will bring the story to a close.
With its blend of drama, music, and cultural commentary, *Euphoria* continues to capture the attention of audiences worldwide. As production progresses, updates on the cast and storyline will likely emerge, keeping fans engaged in the lead-up to the much-anticipated season premiere.
