UPDATE: Chris Langlee, a cherished member of the Duluth community, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, surrounded by family. He was 64 years old. Langlee’s family confirmed his passing, highlighting his profound impact on those around him.
Born on August 23, 1961, Chris dedicated 20 years to the Air National Guard, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2005. His commitment to service was matched only by his love for his community and family. Chris worked at several local organizations, including Enger Park Golf Course and most recently as the Credit and Collections Administrator for the City of Duluth.
Throughout his life, Chris was a passionate athlete. He played varsity baseball for the Denfeld Hunters and enjoyed numerous years in local softball leagues, earning a reputation as a formidable left- and right-handed hitter. His love for sports extended to being a diehard fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Wild, embodying the spirit of a true Minnesotan.
Chris was not just an athlete; he was also an avid golfer, often found at Nemadji Golf Course during the summer months. His zest for life was evident in his culinary skills, entertaining friends and family with delicious meals accompanied by his favorite rock and roll tunes.
In a heartwarming twist, Chris met his soulmate, Patrice Johnson, in 2010, and they married on June 21, 2019. Together, they blended their families, fostering an environment filled with love and laughter. Chris is survived by Patrice, their children, and granddaughter, Kyla Johnson, alongside his siblings and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Cremation Society of Minnesota located at 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN. A celebration of Chris’s life will follow at 2:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to honor his memory.
