Akeley’s St. John’s Lutheran Church to Host Urgent Fall Rally on Oct. 23

UPDATE: Akeley is set to host a significant fall rally on October 23, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 110 Pleasant Ave. SE. The event, organized by the Bemidji-Park Rapids Zone of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, promises to be a powerful gathering centered around the theme “Jesus is the Water of Life.”

Registration begins at 9:00 AM, with the rally kicking off at 9:30 AM. Attendees will be welcomed with devotions led by pastoral counselor Jim Neubauer. Following the opening, there will be a Bible Study facilitated by Reverend Yahr, providing attendees with spiritual nourishment and community engagement.

The rally will feature an afternoon guest speaker, Cory Nelson, representing the Youth Emergency Shelter and Supports. Nelson’s insights are expected to shed light on the critical need for support services within the community, making this an event not to be missed.

In a heartwarming effort to give back, an ingathering for the shelter will also take place, encouraging participants to bring much-needed items to support those in need. This initiative highlights the rally’s commitment to community service and outreach.

As the day approaches, organizers emphasize the importance of participation to foster fellowship and support within the community. The fall rally is not just an event; it’s a call to action for those looking to make a difference.
