UPDATE: Authorities have apprehended a shooting suspect in Pullman, Washington, who was wanted on a staggering $5 million arrest warrant. The suspect, identified as Osman Morales-Salto, was arrested on Wednesday following a collaborative effort between multiple law enforcement agencies.
Pullman Police received tips from the Pasco Police Department late Tuesday evening indicating that Morales-Salto was likely hiding in the Aspen Heights area on Military Hill. With six counts of first-degree assault linked to a violent shooting incident early Sunday morning in Pasco, his capture was deemed urgent.
The Whitman County Regional SWAT Team, along with the Pasco Street Crimes Unit and the Latah County Regional SWAT Team, surrounded the area to confirm his presence. After several hours of surveillance, Morales-Salto was taken into custody without incident.
Authorities have advised the public to avoid the Aspen Heights area as the investigation continues. Residents near the scene are urged to use alternative routes around North Grand Avenue and Pullman-Albion Road.
