Anna Trebunskaya Thrives Post-DWTS, Balances Family and Dance

URGENT UPDATE: Former “Dancing With the Stars” pro Anna Trebunskaya is thriving in her post-DWTS life, blending her passion for dance with family commitments. The celebrated dancer is teaching at her You Can Dance studio in Hermosa Beach, California, while raising two children with partner Nevin Millan.

After leaving DWTS in 2015 to focus on her personal life post-divorce, Trebunskaya has successfully transitioned into a vibrant family and teaching life. The couple welcomed daughter Amalya in January 2014 and son Kaspyan in September 2017. “Getting the kids involved in the traditions of their heritage is one of the highlights of my adult life,” Millan shared on Instagram, emphasizing the importance of cultural connection.

Trebunskaya first graced the DWTS stage in 2006 and quickly became a fan favorite. During her tenure, she demonstrated her talent alongside notable partners, including Jerry Rice and Gary Busey. Her performances captivated audiences, and she returned for several seasons, even participating in the all-stars edition in 2012.

The dancer stepped away from the spotlight to prioritize her family after her marriage to fellow dancer Jonathan Roberts ended. The couple announced their split in a joint statement in 2012, expressing mutual respect and commitment to remain friends and partners in dance.

Trebunskaya’s return to DWTS in 2016, dancing with actor Gary Busey, saw them finish in 10th place. Reflecting on that season, she noted, “Luckily, I was with Gary, and I didn’t have to do anything crazy,” highlighting the balance she sought as a new mom.

Today, Trebunskaya is dedicated to her teaching role at her studio, sharing her passion with aspiring dancers. “It’s an honor to be able to unlock people’s hidden talent,” she stated in a recent Instagram post. Her studio serves as a nurturing environment for dance enthusiasts, where she combines cheerleading with a disciplined approach.

Amid her busy schedule, Trebunskaya maintains a connection to DWTS, returning to participate in tributes, including a heartfelt performance honoring the late Len Goodman in 2023. She was also spotted in the audience during season 34’s Disney Night, showcasing her continued support for the show that launched her career.

As Trebunskaya continues to balance her professional life with motherhood, she remains an influential figure in the dance community. Her journey reflects resilience and dedication, inspiring many as she navigates the dual roles of mother and mentor.
