This win marks Southeastern Louisiana’s first triumph in San Antonio since 2016. With the victory, the Lions improved their record to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in the Southland Conference. The team had entered the game averaging 35.2 points per contest, including an impressive 42.8 points against FCS opponents.
On the opposing side, EJ Colson completed 16 of 24 passes for 158 yards for Incarnate Word, while Jaylon Spears contributed significantly with 97 rushing yards. Carter’s performance included 83 rushing yards and a touchdown, underscoring the Cardinals’ efforts despite the defeat.
