UPDATE: Pelham, NH police are urgently seeking the public’s assistance following a dramatic rollover crash early Saturday morning that left one driver hospitalized and another vehicle fleeing the scene. At approximately 12:20 a.m. on October 14, 2023, authorities responded to reports of a rollover incident on Windham Road, near Hobbs Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a GMC Yukon on its passenger side in the yard of 255 Hobbs Road, with a trailer attached. The driver of the Yukon sustained minor injuries and was promptly transported to a local hospital by the Pelham Fire Department. Fortunately, two passengers who were in the SUV were evaluated at the scene and found uninjured.
Investigators revealed that the Yukon was traveling southbound when a Ford Expedition heading north crossed the centerline. In a desperate attempt to avoid a collision, the Yukon swerved off the road and rolled over. Witnesses reported that the Expedition briefly paused after the crash before speeding down Hobbs Road towards Route 38.
Despite immediate searches of the area, police were unable to locate the fleeing vehicle. Authorities are calling on anyone who witnessed the crash or has information regarding the Ford Expedition to reach out to Cpl. James Locke at [email protected] or 603-635-2411.
In a concerning trend, the Pelham Police Department highlighted a spike in traffic incidents. Earlier today, they posted on social media about responding to five motor vehicle crashes within just over 24 hours, including four on Mammoth Road. Tragically, two of those incidents resulted in serious injuries, and one was fatal. On Thursday night, a 19-year-old man lost his life when his Volkswagen Jetta rolled over and struck a utility pole. His identity has yet to be released.
The details surrounding the rollover crash remain under active investigation. Authorities remind drivers to exercise extreme caution on the roads, as they continue to respond to multiple motor vehicle accidents.
