UPDATE: The victim of a fatal shooting in San Francisco’s Mission District has been identified as 20-year-old Kaylyn Tafao Olomua. The shooting occurred on December 10, 2023, at approximately 12:25 a.m. on 16th Street between Mission and Valencia, leaving one person dead and another in critical condition.
Witnesses reported chaos as the shots rang out outside the Skylark bar. Multiple bystanders stated they heard around eight shots fired, prompting people to flee for safety. An employee at a nearby establishment, Pachitas #2, described how a crowd rushed into the restaurant seeking refuge.
Emergency responders rushed Tafao to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The second victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, is currently battling for their life in critical condition.
Authorities from the San Francisco Police Department swiftly apprehended 23-year-old Larry Hudgson Jr. in nearby Visitation Valley as a suspect. He has been charged with murder and is now held in a San Francisco county jail.
