Gerald “Jerry” Krueger, aged 83, passed away on November 15, 2025, after a brief illness in Winona, Minnesota. His journey began on October 23, 1942, when he was born to Arnold and Lillian Krueger. A proud graduate of Keewatin High School in 1960, Jerry furthered his education at the University of Minnesota Duluth, earning a degree in Business in 1965.
That same year, he married Sandy Swanstrom, with whom he had two daughters. After their divorce, he married Cathy Crockett, adding two more daughters to his family. His professional career was dedicated to the JCPenney Company, where he advanced through various management positions across the Midwest. His career climaxed at the company’s corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas, before he transferred to manage a store in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, from which he retired.
Faith and Community Involvement
Following his retirement, Jerry embarked on a spiritual journey, dedicating himself to his faith in Jesus Christ. He became an active member of his church, where he mentored others, supported outreach initiatives, and helped oversee the church’s building expansion. His commitment to community service extended beyond the church as he generously contributed his time to organizations such as The United Way, the Small Business Association, the Answer Center, The Gideons, and the University of Sioux Falls Business Department.
In his later years, Jerry moved to Winona to be closer to two of his daughters and their families. He treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, especially enjoying their sporting events and activities. Jerry’s legacy is marked by his unwavering dedication to family, faith, and community.
Survived by Family
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Arthur Koski, sisters Larolyn Radell and Annette Krznarich, and brother Arnold “Nails” Krueger. He is survived by his daughters Kerrie Maynard, Dawn Appicelli (Phil), Courtney Rangel (Joey), and Ashley Rebarchek (Mason); 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Charlene Gunelson (David); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry Krueger’s life was characterized by a commitment to service, an enduring love for his family, and a deep faith that guided his actions. He will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the positive impact he made on the lives of those around him.
