Unison Bank’s $250,000 Gift Fuels New Campus Hub at UJ

BREAKING NEWS: A transformative $250,000 donation from Unison Bank is rapidly reshaping campus life at the University of Jamestown. The funding has enabled the launch of The Well Coffee Shop, a vibrant new gathering spot located within the freshly opened Reuben and Clarice Liechty Center for Faith and Life.

Opened this fall, The Well is more than just a coffee bar; it is quickly emerging as the heart of campus connection, strategically nestled between the historic Voorhees Chapel and the bustling Badal Nafus Student Union. The Well serves as a vital space for students and community members to gather, rejuvenate, and engage.

“It is a special place for the campus and community to enjoy,” stated Brett Moser, vice president of development and alumni relations. “We are especially grateful to Unison Bank for their generosity which helped turn this vision into reality.”

The Well embodies the university’s faith-based mission, symbolizing a source of refreshment and spiritual growth—acting as a modern-day well for students to pause, reflect, and connect.

Kelly Rachel, president and CEO of Unison Bank, emphasized that the bank’s commitment goes beyond coffee. “We were excited about creating a space where students feel cared for, energized and supported,” she remarked. “When students have a place that nourishes both their minds and their spirits, they’re more equipped to dream bigger, work harder, and build the futures God is calling them toward.”

Founded in 1965 in Jamestown, Unison Bank has a long-standing tradition of supporting educational and community initiatives. “We give back because helping others achieve their dreams is at the core of who we are,” Rachel added.

The Well is already fostering a culture of intentionality, where students are encouraged to pursue their callings with confidence. With every cup brewed, friendships and innovative ideas are blossoming, making it a dynamic environment for personal and academic growth.

As the new school year unfolds, The Well is positioned to become a central hub for both reflection and connection, drawing students to engage with their deeper purpose during their college journey.
