BREAKING: The legendary punk rock band, the Sex Pistols, has just announced a major 50th anniversary tour with new frontman Frank Carter. This highly anticipated tour, commemorating the band’s iconic legacy, will kick off with four concerts across the U.K. in mid-2026, following the success of their reunion last year.
The tour marks a significant milestone since the release of their groundbreaking single, “Anarchy in the U.K.”, and will feature original members Steve Jones (guitar), Paul Cook (drums), and Glen Matlock (bass), alongside Carter, who has previously led bands like Gallows and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.
Tickets for the concerts go on sale Friday, November 28, 2025, via Ticketmaster and StubHub. Fans can expect electrifying performances of classic hits from their only studio album, “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols,” which includes anthems like “Pretty Vacant” and “God Save the Queen.”
The tour will open on July 11 at The Piece Hall in Halifax, followed by a show at Castlefield Bowl in Manchester on July 12. The band will then hit Cardiff Castle on August 1, wrapping up with an outdoor spectacle at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on August 2.
Despite the excitement, the absence of former lead vocalist John Lydon, also known as Johnny Rotten, looms large. Lydon has not performed with the band since 2008 and has publicly criticized the current lineup, dismissing their performances as “karaoke.” He has also indicated he will not participate in any future reunions, further intensifying the band’s narrative.
Steve Jones expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming shows, stating, “If it ain’t fun, I ain’t doing it. I’m too old for bulls—.” This sentiment highlights the band’s commitment to delivering authentic and enjoyable performances to their fans.
The Sex Pistols’ reunion tour was initially set to include their first U.S. concerts in over two decades, but plans were derailed when Jones suffered a wrist injury in September. With no rescheduled dates confirmed, the focus now shifts to the U.K. shows, which promise to be a must-see for punk rock enthusiasts.
As anticipation builds, fans are urged to secure their tickets promptly to witness this landmark celebration of punk music history. The Sex Pistols are proving that while they may be without Lydon, their spirit and legacy continue to resonate powerfully in the music scene.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Sex Pistols and their upcoming tour dates as they are announced!
