Judy Parsons, Beloved Community Leader, Passes Away at 93

This tragic news comes just months after the death of her husband, Paul Parsons, who passed away in May, holding her hand.

Judy, as she was affectionately known, was born in 1932 to Dorothy Graebe-Zent and Claude Zent in Stockton, California. Raised by her grandparents after the early loss of her mother, Judy grew into a strong and passionate woman, excelling in both her personal and professional life. She graduated from San Jose State University, where she was a proud member of the Chi Omega sorority.

The Parsons family shared how Judy’s zest for life was evident in everything she did. She and Paul, married in 1954, were deeply involved in their community, contributing to various local organizations including the Soquel Pioneers and the Land Trust. Judy’s commitment to community service was profound; she often expressed her desire to make Soquel a better place to live through volunteer work and support for local politicians.
