The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) has elected Scott Moskowitz of Qcells as the new chair of its Board of Directors. This decision, announced on March 15, 2026, comes alongside the election of several board members who represent the diverse landscape of the U.S. solar and storage industry. Moskowitz’s leadership is expected to reinforce SEIA’s commitment to advancing American-made solar and storage as primary sources of energy in the country.
Moskowitz takes over the chair position from Darren Van’t Hof, who recently stepped down to assume the role of interim president and CEO of SEIA. The transition reflects SEIA’s strategic focus on navigating a year marked by both growth and challenges, including regulatory changes and policy uncertainties in the solar sector.
In addition to Moskowitz, Dr. Ingmar Ritzenhofen, chief commercial officer at RWE Clean Energy, has been elected as vice chair. Ritzenhofen brings substantial expertise in large-scale project development and grid integration, which will be critical as the industry adapts to evolving market demands.
During the announcement, Van’t Hof emphasized the importance of strong leadership during this pivotal time. “As the solar and storage industry enters an important year of growth and transition, SEIA’s success depends on strong, experienced leadership,” he stated. He extended congratulations to Moskowitz, Ritzenhofen, and all newly elected and returning board members, expressing confidence that they will guide the industry toward a sustainable energy future.
Moskowitz expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to chair SEIA during a crucial period. “SEIA has an important role to play in advancing durable, bipartisan policy that accelerates deployment, strengthens U.S. manufacturing, and lowers electricity costs,” he remarked. He looks forward to collaborating closely with the board, staff, and policymakers to achieve these objectives.
