Celebrate Christmas with Frank Sinatra Tribute at VPAT

A Christmas tribute to the legendary Frank Sinatra will take place on December 10, 2023, at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre in California. This event, titled “Ron George’s Big Band Christmas Tribute to Frank Sinatra,” features renowned local vocalist Frank Salamone and promises an engaging performance celebrating the holiday spirit through Sinatra’s timeless music.

The concert begins at 15:00 local time at the venue located at 1010 Ulatis Drive. It will include the Alive Music Orchestra as the backing ensemble, with special guests Ron George and The Salamone Sisters. George, who sponsors the annual Christmas in My Hometown concert, describes this tribute as a “Big Band Christmas” salute to Sinatra, whose influence on popular music remains significant nearly three decades after his passing.

Frank Salamone, a long-time performer with the Alive Music Orchestra and a retired pastor from Cornerstone Church in Dixon, has established himself as a prominent figure in the California music scene. Known for his captivating storytelling between songs, Salamone aims to connect with audiences of all ages, echoing Sinatra’s own charisma and style. George remarked, “Salamone has dazzled audiences across California and Nevada, leaving a lasting impression whether performing in Las Vegas or at intimate corporate events.”

Sinatra, often referred to as “Ol’ Blue Eyes” because of his striking blue eyes, popularized numerous Christmas classics throughout his career, despite not writing any himself. His iconic holiday albums, particularly “A Jolly Christmas from Frank Sinatra” released in 1957, remain favorites during the festive season. Renowned tracks such as “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “White Christmas,” and “The Christmas Song” continue to resonate with fans, resulting in thousands of downloads and purchases of his music each year.

In addition to his well-known Christmas albums, which include “12 Songs of Christmas” (1961) and “The Sinatra Family Wish You a Merry Christmas” (1968), Sinatra collaborated on the original song “The Christmas Waltz” in 1954. His ability to convey deep emotion through song has contributed to his lasting legacy, making his music a staple during the holidays.

Tickets for the December 10 performance are priced at $37, and can be purchased through the venue’s box office or online at vpat.net. For further inquiries, attendees can contact the box office at 707-469-4013.

As the holiday season approaches, this tribute provides a unique opportunity to celebrate the enduring legacy of Frank Sinatra while enjoying the festive spirit of Christmas music.
