Netflix House Opens Doors in King of Prussia Mall, Boosting Local Economy

Netflix has officially opened its first U.S. experiential venue, Netflix House, at the King of Prussia Mall in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. This highly anticipated opening, which took place on November 12, 2023, marks a significant milestone for the streaming giant, nearly 18 months after the announcement of its development. Netflix House is designed to immerse fans in the world of its popular shows and movies, creating a vibrant space for entertainment and community engagement.

Occupying approximately 100,000 square feet over two floors, Netflix House is situated in the former Lord & Taylor store within the mall. The venue has created nearly 300 jobs for local residents, showcasing Netflix’s commitment to the community. During the opening festivities, local officials, Netflix executives, and talent from various shows gathered to celebrate. Notably, Netflix co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters presented Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro with a symbolic “Key to Netflix House.”

The project not only employed over 260 local tradespeople during its construction but also collaborated with regional artists and vendors, enhancing the venue’s connection to the local culture. Marian Lee, Netflix’s chief marketing officer, emphasized the importance of creating a space reflective of the region’s identity, stating, “From the beginning, we wanted this to be a space that reflects the people and pride of this region, built by local talent and inspired by the stories fans love most.”

What to Expect at Netflix House

Netflix House offers a range of immersive experiences inspired by beloved series and films, including “Wednesday,” “Stranger Things,” and “Squid Game.” Each area of the venue is designed to engage visitors of all ages. The immersive experiences allow fans to step into the worlds of their favorite shows, with attractions such as Netflix V/RTUALS, which lets guests play as main characters in virtual reality games.

The venue also features the TUDUM Theater, which accommodates 229 guests for screenings of Netflix content, trivia nights, and special events, including live sports. Another attraction is the Top 9 Mini-Golf, a unique nine-hole course themed around popular Netflix characters and stories, complete with a live leaderboard.

Dining options include Netflix BITES, where visitors can enjoy themed food and beverages. The Netflix Shop offers local merchandise, collectibles, and apparel inspired by Netflix’s extensive catalog.

Visitors can enter Netflix House through two entrances, including one that features an oversized red envelope, a nod to Netflix’s origins as a DVD rental service. This entrance is complemented by a mural from local artist Emily White, depicting a mash-up of Netflix characters, creating a vibrant visual welcome.

Community Impact and Future Plans

The opening of Netflix House is expected to enhance the local economy further, drawing visitors to Montgomery County, particularly as the region prepares for significant events in 2026. Rachel Riley, vice president of marketing and communications for the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, praised the immersive experience, highlighting its potential to attract tourists.

Entry to Netflix House is free, with ticketed events for immersive experiences starting at $39. Prices for other activities, such as Netflix V/RTUALS and Top 9 Mini Golf, vary, with tickets starting at $25 and $15, respectively. The venue operates Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Looking ahead, Netflix plans to open two additional locations, with Netflix House Dallas scheduled to debut on December 11, 2023, at Galleria Dallas, and Netflix House Las Vegas set to launch in 2027 along the Las Vegas Strip.
