Rob Dyrdek has addressed the recent cancellation of his long-running MTV series, Ridiculousness, which aired for an impressive 46 seasons. While new episodes will continue to be broadcast until 2026, the production of additional content has officially ceased. The cancellation comes shortly after reports indicated that Dyrdek was earning approximately $32.5 million annually from the network.
In a heartfelt video message shared on social media, Dyrdek expressed his gratitude to fans for their support over the years. “I just want to say thank you to every single person who ever watched any of my shows. 19 years, four different shows, 2034 episodes. I’m just so grateful. I’m grateful to MTV,” he stated.
Embracing Change and New Opportunities
Dyrdek, who is now 51, reflected on his personal evolution throughout the life of the show. He described how he felt he had outgrown the persona associated with Ridiculousness. “This was divine timing. I had really evolved over these last few years. And I was growing out of having that ball cap and standing on the Ridiculousness stage and dancing,” he said.
The television star highlighted his commitment to optimizing his time, which he believes contributed to the show’s efficiency. “Really it was because I was so committed to this time mastery goal of mine. Of understanding all of my time and optimizing my time,” Dyrdek explained. He noted that in the later stages of production, he was able to film up to 12 episodes in a single day.
Looking Ahead to Future Projects
As he moves forward, Dyrdek hinted at exciting new projects on the horizon. “I know that the reason I live such an amazing life and such a high-quality existence is because I account for all my time,” he stated. He aims to create opportunities for others to do the same, emphasizing the importance of time management in enhancing overall quality of life.
The cancellation of Ridiculousness marks the end of an era for Dyrdek and his fans, but his positive outlook suggests that he is ready for the next chapter.
