A yoga studio in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, has recently relocated to a new address. Rise Yoga Gettysburg moved to 430 Baltimore St. last month, transitioning from its previous location at the Phoenix Wellness Center in Highland Township. This move is part of an effort to enhance the studio’s offerings and better serve the local community.
The new facility provides an expanded range of classes, catering to various skill levels and interests. Under the ownership of Gettysburg native Alli Crowell, the studio features beginner-friendly sessions, chair yoga, restorative yoga, and a selection of Vinyasa-style classes. Notably, it also includes classes specifically designed for individuals within the brain injury community.
“Our dynamic team of instructors are trained in trauma-informed practices to serve a wide range of needs, abilities and experiences,” Crowell stated. “We want to disprove the notion that yoga is only for folks who are ‘fit and flexible.’ In fact, it is quite the opposite.” This inclusive approach aims to make yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical condition.
In addition to regular classes, Rise Yoga Gettysburg offers several initiatives to foster community engagement. The studio provides pay-what-you-can offerings, along with a free monthly community class held on First Fridays. Weekly open studio hours are also available at no charge, allowing community members to practice yoga in a welcoming environment. For those who may not have their own equipment, the studio supplies yoga mats free of charge.
Crowell expressed optimism about the studio’s new location. “We hope that our new home in downtown Gettysburg will enhance our ability to serve the community and partner with local organizations and wellness spaces,” she said in a news release. This relocation marks a significant step for Rise Yoga Gettysburg as it seeks to broaden its impact and reach in the community, encouraging a diverse population to engage in yoga and wellness practices.
With its commitment to inclusivity and community engagement, Rise Yoga Gettysburg aims to set a new standard for wellness spaces in the region, promoting health and well-being for all.
