Avila brings over a decade of experience from Sutter Health Valley Hospitals in Sacramento, where he served as Director of Operations for Ancillary and Support Services. His appointment is part of a strategic effort to strengthen operational leadership at the medical center.

In his previous role, Avila focused on enhancing care delivery and improving patient experience. He developed various strategies aimed at achieving financial stability within the Sutter Health system, where he spent more than 11 years. Avila holds a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga and earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from CalPoly San Luis Obispo.

Gurvinder Kaur, President of Saint Agnes, expressed enthusiasm about Avila’s addition to the Senior Leadership Team, stating, “His experience with strategic planning and process improvement will be instrumental in supporting our healing mission to increase access to the highest quality care for our community.”

Avila succeeds William Evo, who took over the operations role in January 2024. The leadership change is seen as a pivotal moment for the medical center as it aims to navigate the evolving landscape of healthcare demands and patient needs.

In welcoming Avila, Saint Agnes Medical Center reinforces its commitment to providing exceptional medical care and improving operational efficiencies. The organization aims to leverage Avila’s expertise to enhance service delivery, ultimately benefiting the communities it serves.
