Maurice Roy, a well-known figure in the sales industry and a cherished friend to many, passed away unexpectedly in a car accident on January 9, 2026. He was 64 years old and lived in Lady Lake, Florida, after relocating from New England.
Born on December 29, 1961, to Rachel Landry Roy and George E. Roy in Biddeford, Maine, Maurice, affectionately known as Moe, was a vibrant personality. He graduated from Biddeford High School in 1981, where he made lasting friendships and engaged his teachers with his lively demeanor. Following his graduation, Moe embarked on a successful career in sales, where his humor and engaging personality shone brightly.
Moe’s career spanned various industries, including boat, car, and RV sales across New Hampshire, Maine, and Florida. Most recently, he worked at Camper’s World in Florida, where he managed the purchasing of used RVs for resale. In 2018, he moved to Lady Lake and reconnected with his old friend, Bob Grimmer, further expanding his social circle.
A Life Rich in Experiences and Relationships
Moe thrived on social interactions, making numerous friends in Florida while frequently returning to Maine and New Hampshire during the summers to reconnect with his extensive network. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying dining out and spending time with friends, often sharing images of his extravagant meals, complete with loaded Bloody Marys, shrimp, oysters, and seafood platters.
A passionate motorcycle enthusiast, Moe took immense pride in his “loud” Harley and actively participated in motorcycle rallies, including the well-known Laconia Motorcycle Week in New Hampshire. Although he loved riding, he was considering selling his motorcycle to join the Jeep community and purchase a Jeep.
Moe’s love extended to his pets, with a particular fondness for his dogs. He experienced deep sorrow after losing his beloved pets, Roosevelt, Eleanor, and most recently, Jake. He remained actively involved in the care of his former partner’s dog, Max, after parting ways with April Woods.
Remembering a Loving Father and Friend
Maurice Roy is survived by his daughter, Meghan Roy, of Austin, Texas, and his sister, Carmen Roy, of Providence, Rhode Island. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother-in-law, Alex Speredelozzi, his niece, Lily Speredelozzi, and former spouses Kathi Roy and Donna Dubois, both of New Hampshire. His family connections extend further to numerous cousins on both the Roy and Landry sides, along with an extensive circle of friends.
