Community Remembers Doris Elaine Barriere, 61, of Port Arthur

Doris Elaine Barriere, a cherished member of the Port Arthur community in Texas, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 61. Her family and friends remember her for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith. Doris was born on January 29, 1964, in Galveston, Texas, to Doris Roy Barriere and Leo Barriere Sr.

Life and Career

She grew up in Texas and attended Lincoln High School before pursuing a career as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. This role reflected her compassionate nature and dedication to caring for others. Doris had two daughters, Heather and Helena, and spent time living in Austin, Texas, before returning to Port Arthur to support her family during her mother’s health decline.

Doris leaves behind her daughters, Heather, who resides in Texas City, and Helena, along with four grandchildren. Her siblings include Desral (Sherry), Clifford “Al”, Jude (Tish), and Vincent (Adelice), in addition to a large extended family filled with nieces, nephews, and friends.

Legacy and Celebration of Life

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Leo Barriere, as well as her sisters Yola, Veronica, and Dorothea, and brothers Larry, Leo, and Martin. The family also mourns the loss of her nieces, Alethia and Tawana, and nephews, Lloyd and Levi.

A celebration of Doris Elaine Barriere’s life is scheduled for January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The service will take place at St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 821 Texas Avenue in Port Arthur. The community is invited to join her family in honoring her memory and reflecting on the impact of her life.

Doris’s legacy as a loving mother, sister, and friend will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
