NYPD officers from Brooklyn North conducted their first annual food drive on November 22, 2023, distributing 400 turkeys to families in need within the Williamsburg community. Another recipient, Carlos DeJesus, highlighted the spirit of Thanksgiving, saying, “Thanksgiving is a lot about giving back and being thankful.” He expressed gratitude for his family’s health, remarking, “I have a lot to be thankful for this year. My wife beat cancer and my daughter lived through a bad car accident.” DeJesus emphasized that community support, even through something as simple as a turkey, can foster togetherness.
