Louis Edward Goldberg, Beloved Family Man and Attorney, Passes at 89

Louis Edward Goldberg, a respected attorney and devoted family man, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 after a courageous battle with cancer. His family confirmed his passing and celebrated his life, which was marked by love, dedication, and a commitment to his profession.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, to parents David and Paula Goldberg, Louis grew up in Arizona, where he shared his childhood with his sister, Evelyn. After his education, he married his lifelong partner, Sheila Burd Goldberg, and the couple relocated to California, where they raised their three children.

Louis pursued higher education at Arizona State University and graduated from the University of Arizona. He later earned his law degree from South Bay University School of Law. Initially working as an engineer, he transitioned to a successful legal career, practicing law until his retirement at the age of 73.

Throughout his life, Louis had a passion for sports, particularly enjoying college basketball, and practiced karate. He was known for his adventurous palate, frequently exploring new restaurants. Most importantly, he cherished time spent with family, instilling strong values in his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his three children: Robert Goldberg and his wife Elaine; Michelle Goldberg Smith and her husband Kevin; and Sheri Goldberg Frazin and her husband Alvin. Louis also leaves behind several grandchildren: Jennifer Sher, Steven Smith, Amanda Goldberg, Andrew Goldberg, Rachel Frazin Sofaer, and Sarah Bowens, along with their partners and his cherished great-grandchildren, including Levi, Sami, Lily, Rory, and Ari.

A memorial service was held on November 16, 2025, at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles, California, where family and friends gathered to honor his remarkable life and legacy. Louis Goldberg will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the love and guidance he provided to his family throughout his life.
