Aaron Rodgers Returns to Limited Practice Ahead of Bears Showdown

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers participated in limited practice on Thursday, marking his return following a fracture in his left wrist. The Pittsburgh Steelers player missed Wednesday’s session but expressed optimism about his ability to practice again. If Rodgers is unable to play in the upcoming game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Mason Rudolph will take over as the starting quarterback, with rookie Will Howard filling the backup role.

In a previous game, Rudolph demonstrated his capabilities by completing 12 of 16 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown during two offensive drives. Rodgers praised Rudolph, stating, “He’s a great backup… He’s super helpful during the week. He’s a professional. He is ready to play. He’s a gamer.” This sentiment was reported by Brooke Pryor of ESPN. He elaborated on Rudolph’s work ethic, noting, “I’m thankful for the way he played, the way he prepares. He’s a lot more type A, I would say, than I am with the preparation. He’s wound a little tight, but it makes it for a good backup quarterback because he’s so in tune to the details, and I just love being around him.”

In addition to Rodgers, several other players returned to practice. Running back Jaylen Warren (ankle) and linebacker Alex Highsmith (pectoral) also participated in limited work after missing Wednesday. Wide receiver Ke’Shawn Williams, who is recovering from a concussion, completed a full practice session after being limited the previous day.

Meanwhile, offensive guard Isaac Seumalo remained limited in his participation due to a pectoral issue, while defensive tackle Cameron Heyward took a second consecutive day off for rest.

As the Steelers prepare for their matchup against the Bears, the status of Rodgers will be closely monitored as the team anticipates the impact of his potential return on their offensive strategy.
