Blayne Myrick emerged as a standout during his time at South Alabama. In the 2025 season, he earned a spot on the second-team All-Sun Belt Conference after leading the Jaguars in tackles with a total of 84. The Fairhope High School graduate had an impressive record over his two seasons, accumulating 101 tackles in 2024 and being named the preseason Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year for 2025. Myrick has two years of eligibility remaining.
Also transferring is Hughes, who faced injury challenges throughout his tenure at South Alabama. Despite these setbacks, he showcased resilience, playing in 34 games over four seasons and finishing with 66 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. He has one year of eligibility left.
Defensive lineman Dominic Wiseman also joins the transfer wave after spending one season with the Jaguars. Originally a junior-college transfer, Wiseman recorded 23 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack during his time at South Alabama. Like Hughes, he possesses one year of eligibility.
