Prince Harry and Nacho Figueras Enjoy Ski Weekend Before Polo Event

Prince Harry and former professional polo player Nacho Figueras spent a leisurely weekend in Aspen, Colorado, prior to their participation in the St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship. The longtime friends enjoyed skiing and dining together, showcasing their camaraderie before they faced off on the polo field.

Before the championship, which took place on December 9, 2023, Harry was part of the Aspen Valley team, competing alongside teammates Grant Ganzi and Nic Roldan. Figueras, representing the St. Regis team, was absent from Harry’s roster, but both athletes were spotted enjoying the slopes together before the games commenced. According to reports from Hello, Harry appeared in good spirits, skiing alongside several male friends.

The friendship between Harry and Figueras dates back to 2007, when they met during a charity tournament to support Sentebale, an organization founded by the prince. Their shared passion for polo solidified their bond, with Figueras attending Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018. The duo even collaborated on a Netflix docuseries titled “Polo,” produced by Harry and Meghan.

Meghan did not join Harry in Aspen, remaining in Montecito, California, with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Despite her absence, Meghan shared her enthusiasm for the event on social media, posting a picture of Harry on horseback. Her father, Thomas Markle, recently underwent a leg amputation in the Philippines. A spokesperson revealed that Meghan managed to send a letter to him, highlighting the challenges posed by the British media in maintaining private communication.

Harry’s visit to Aspen marked his first public outing in weeks, and he seemed to relish the opportunity to enjoy a weekend away with friends. As a child, he often vacationed in snowy destinations, including Switzerland, and he continues to embrace winter sports. Earlier this year, he explored sit-skiing during a training camp for the upcoming 2025 Invictus Games in Whistler and Vancouver. Additionally, he reportedly took his children to the Powder Mountain Ski Resort in Utah for a family getaway.

The polo championship promises to be an exciting event, with Harry and Figueras showcasing their skills on the field, even as they maintain their longstanding friendship off it. Fans and spectators alike will be keen to see how the competition unfolds.
