Shaun Jenne Appointed Head Coach of Polk County Men’s Tennis

Polk County has officially appointed Shaun Jenne as the new head coach of its men’s tennis program, as announced by Athletic Director Michelle Fagan. Jenne, who has been deeply involved in the sport for many years, brings a wealth of experience and a strong connection to the region’s tennis tradition.

Jenne’s relationship with tennis began in 1995, when he started playing alongside his wife, Angela Jenne, a former standout athlete for the Wolverines under the guidance of coach Jim Click. Angela will be joining him as an assistant coach, contributing her expertise to the program. The couple has not only competed but also coached for decades, fostering talent within their own family. Their son, Ryan, played at Methodist University, while their daughter, Hannah, secured a 1A doubles state championship for the Wolverines. Presently, three of their other children are actively representing Polk County on the courts.

“I am honored to be awarded this position,” Jenne stated. “I look forward to working cooperatively with Athletic Director Michelle Fagan and women’s head coach Tracy Becker to make Polk County Wolverine tennis the best it can be.” Becker will continue her leadership of the women’s program, ensuring a cohesive approach to tennis at Polk County.

Jenne’s appointment is seen as a significant step for the men’s tennis program, which is poised for growth under his guidance. His extensive background in the sport and commitment to developing young talent align with the goals of the athletic department. The Jenne family’s legacy in tennis not only enhances the program’s credibility but also adds a personal touch to its future direction.

As the new season approaches, the Polk County athletic community is eager to see how Jenne’s leadership will impact the team’s performance and development. His deep-rooted passion for tennis and his family’s history in the sport position him well to inspire both players and fans alike.
