The Valley City Area High School Democrats of America (HSDA) will convene for their inaugural meeting on January 23, 2024, at 17:00 in the Norway Room of the student center at Valley City State University, located at 230 Viking Drive. The meeting aims to discuss policies and establish the local chapter’s procedures, providing high school students with a platform for civic engagement.
This first gathering will focus on the operations of the HSDA and explore initiatives the chapter can undertake to enhance its communities. High school students from the surrounding areas, particularly those without a local chapter, are encouraged to join. The HSDA welcomes students interested in various forms of political activism, including campaign assistance, protest organizing, and social media outreach.
Carter Hass, a senior at Valley City High School and the founder of the Valley City Area HSDA, emphasized the necessity for Generation Z to have a voice in political discourse. “It’s important that we have a platform to amplify our concerns and solutions,” he stated. The HSDA strives to facilitate this by offering students a means to effect meaningful civic change through peaceful engagement.
Hass extended an invitation to all high school students, regardless of their political affiliations. “Our generation needs serious unity, and this is the best way to unite,” he remarked, highlighting the chapter’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and active participation among young people. “Patriotism can go a long way, and this political organizing represents patriotism at its finest.”
Members of the press are also invited to attend the meeting, which aims to create a welcoming environment for discussion and involvement in political processes. The Valley City Area HSDA seeks to empower the next generation, enabling them to engage with important issues and advocate for their beliefs in a constructive manner.
