Young Climbers Gear Up for Three-Day Rock Climbing Camp

A three-day rock climbing camp is set to launch for young enthusiasts, offering a comprehensive introduction to essential climbing techniques. Designed for children aged 6 to 10, this program will take place from June 23, 2026, to July 23, 2026, at both the Edwards Field House and the Gypsum Recreation Center.

The camp will cover fundamental skills, including knot tying, belaying, and proper movement techniques over rock surfaces. Participants will begin with a day of indoor instruction at the Mountain Recreation climbing wall, where they will learn the basics in a controlled environment. Following this initial training, the young climbers will embark on two days of outdoor climbing adventures, experiencing real rock climbing firsthand.

The cost for this enriching experience is $260, which includes all necessary equipment and instruction. This program aims to foster a love for climbing and the outdoors among youth, providing them with skills that can be utilized in future climbing endeavors.
