UPDATE: The Cleveland Jewish News is set to honor 18 extraordinary community leaders at its annual 18 Difference Makers reception on December 11, 2025, at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights. The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and promises to celebrate those making significant impacts in the Jewish community.
Among this year’s distinguished honorees is Erika Gold, a 93-year-old Holocaust survivor, who will receive the prestigious Sam Miller Lifetime Achievement Award for her decades of advocacy and education. Gold has been a vital voice, sharing her story with schools and organizations, inspiring countless individuals.
Also recognized is Lee Fisher, President of Baldwin Wallace University, who will receive the Civic Leadership Award. Fisher has played a pivotal role in legal education and community service throughout his career, previously serving as dean of Cleveland State University College of Law.
The Wain family will be awarded the Generation Award, honoring their legacy of leadership and community engagement. Their late father, Norman Wain, was a notable radio station owner and community leader, whose contributions to the Cleveland Jewish community are deeply felt.
