BREAKING: Madalynne Rose Buford, a cherished member of her community, has passed away at the age of 87. She died on December 20, 2025, in Joplin, MO, leaving behind a rich legacy of faith and service.
Madalynne, affectionately known as Maddie, was born on September 11, 1938, in Elizabethton, TN. She gained recognition as a successful commercial real estate agent in Hesperia, CA, specializing in land transactions. Her professional accomplishments were matched only by her dedication to her Christian faith, which deeply influenced her life.
After retiring from real estate, Maddie embraced a new passion for antiques, finding and selling unique items through various vendors. Her entrepreneurial spirit continued to shine brightly in her later years. Known for her love of animals, she was particularly devoted to her four Shih Tzu dogs, who were her constant companions.
Maddie is survived by her son, Daniel Vernoy, of Woodland Hills, CA, and her daughter, Cindy Paro, of Roswell, NM. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Christian, Nicholas, Michael A., Patrick, Jennifer, and Michael, along with one great-grandchild, Kaitlyn. Additionally, she is mourned by her sister, Sharron, and brother-in-law, Paul Pankhurst, both from Fairhope, AL, as well as three nephews and one niece.
Maddie was preceded in death by her son, David Vernoy. Her family has entrusted her final arrangements to Clark Funeral Homes. A burial service will take place at the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Neosho, MO.
