Born on July 9, 1938, in Camden, NJ, Hal was known for his unwavering commitment to his community. He graduated from Morristown High School in 1957 before serving 8 years in the Army National Guard. Hal dedicated his professional life to technology and public safety, working as a Computer Supervisor at Bell Telephone Laboratories and later managing teams at GTE Data Services. His most notable role was as a firefighter for 18 years with the City of Johnstown, where he became a beloved figure.

In 1971, Hal founded the Johnstown Area Volunteer Ambulance Corp, demonstrating his deep commitment to emergency services. His passion for the arts shone through his active involvement in local theater, including the Colonial Little Theater and The Galway Players. He even volunteered as a percussion instructor, nurturing the next generation of musicians at the Oppenheim Ephratah School.

Hal’s personal life was equally rich. He was married to his loving wife, Dawn Warren, for an incredible 66 years. “We are truly grateful for the outstanding support they provided.”

In accordance with the family’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Instead, a Celebration of Life is planned for Spring 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Brennan Humane Society or the Fulton County Regional SPCA to honor Hal’s love for animals.
