Carnival Announces Exciting New Destinations and Eclipse Cruises for 2027

UPDATE: Carnival Cruise Line is making headlines with the announcement of new cruise destinations for 2027, including exclusive solar eclipse-viewing trips. The cruise line has confirmed that it will expand its itineraries to include stops in Europe and Africa, starting from late May 2027 through October 2027.

The new program marks a historic first for Carnival, featuring ports in Africa, specifically La Goulette in Tunis, Tunisia, and Tangier in Morocco. This unprecedented expansion reflects Carnival’s commitment to providing passengers with unique travel experiences.

Cruisers can look forward to a diverse selection of itineraries, including weeklong trips and options for back-to-back sailings from key departure points like Barcelona, Spain, and Civitavecchia, Italy. Destinations will also include newly added European ports such as Bari, Italy; Bar, Montenegro; and Ajaccio on the French island of Corsica.

Among the highlights is the much-anticipated solar eclipse cruise, departing from Barcelona on July 25, 2027. This special sailing will position the Carnival Sunshine strategically along the path of maximum visibility for the rare solar eclipse occurring on August 2, 2027. Passengers can expect a spectacular view as the ship sails along the European coast.

Another unique opportunity arises with the Carnival Miracle, which will offer an 11-day cruise departing from Dover, England, on July 29, 2027. This cruise includes a dedicated day at sea for eclipse viewing, alongside visits to countries like Portugal, Spain, France, and Belgium. To facilitate this experience, Carnival will operate a cross-Atlantic cruise departing from Norfolk, Virginia, on May 15, 2027, allowing passengers to connect seamlessly to the eclipse cruise.

Returning to the U.S., the Carnival Sunshine will commence a new schedule of 10-day and four-day cruises from Galveston, Texas, starting on November 17, 2027. The ship will join other vessels, including Carnival Breeze, Carnival Horizon, and Carnival Jubilee, enhancing the cruise experience from Texas.

“We’re excited to bring Carnival Sunshine to an expanded lineup of destinations that offer our guests even more ways to explore Europe and beyond,” stated Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line. “With our first-ever African ports, new European calls, and once-in-a-lifetime eclipse sailing, this deployment delivers variety, adventure, and memorable experiences our guests look forward to when sailing on Carnival.”

With this latest announcement, Carnival Cruise Line is poised to attract travel enthusiasts eager for adventure and unforgettable experiences in 2027. Travelers are encouraged to book early for these unique itineraries, especially the highly sought-after solar eclipse cruises, which promise a magical and memorable journey.
