UPDATE: A DoorDash delivery driver was arrested for cocaine possession following a traffic stop in North Royalton, Ohio, on September 20. The driver, operating a Pontiac G6 with expired plates, was pulled over after police noticed erratic driving on York Road.
Police observed the vehicle weaving dangerously and initiated a stop. Upon approaching the car, officers detected signs of impairment and requested permission to search. During the search, they discovered a baggie containing cocaine along with a clear straw. The driver denied ownership of the drugs, but further investigation revealed additional narcotics in his wallet. He was subsequently arrested for cocaine possession and cited for drug abuse, expired plates, and weaving.
In a separate incident just days later, on September 24, another driver was arrested for drunken driving on York Road. Police observed a gray sedan weaving and, upon interaction, the driver admitted to having “a little bit” to drink. Two cans of beer were visible in the vehicle. The driver claimed he had only stopped drinking 10 minutes prior to being pulled over. After failing a field sobriety test, he was also cited for weaving and not driving within marked lanes.
These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about impaired driving and drug possession in the area. Local residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
