Driver Arrested After Ramming Car Into White House Gates
An urgent situation unfolded late Tuesday night as a driver was arrested after ramming a vehicle into the gates of the White House. The incident occurred at approximately 10:37 p.m., just a few hundred feet away from where President Donald Trump was located.
According to the U.S. Secret Service, the vehicle crashed into the Secret Service vehicle gate at 17th & E St, NW in Washington, DC. Immediate responses from Secret Service Uniformed Division officers led to the quick arrest of the suspect. The vehicle was assessed and deemed safe, but officials confirmed that the investigation into the motive is ongoing.
“This incident is under investigation, and the area has been secured,” the Secret Service stated on X. Social media reports featured images of the vehicle, described as a small sedan, while the surrounding area was placed on lockdown.
The timing of this incident raises alarms amid rising tensions and a wave of violence targeting federal institutions across the nation. Just days prior, alarming discoveries included a suspicious hunting tree stand near the Air Force One landing zone at Palm Beach International Airport, prompting an extensive investigation by the FBI. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that no individuals were found at the site but emphasized the heightened security measures being implemented.
No injuries were reported as a result of the ramming incident, and authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the driver. This incident is part of a troubling trend involving security threats against federal properties and personnel. Last month, a man named Donald Henson was arrested after crashing into the entrance of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office, marking another alarming episode in a series of targeted attacks.
As the investigation continues, officials urge the public to remain vigilant. The Secret Service has reassured the nation that they are committed to ensuring the safety of federal buildings and personnel. Updates are expected as more details emerge from the ongoing investigations.
This developing story highlights the pressing need for enhanced security measures as threats against federal institutions rise. Stay informed as we bring you the latest updates on this urgent situation.
