BREAKING: Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence venture, xAI, has just filed a permit for a massive $659 million expansion at its data center complex in Memphis, Tennessee. Shotwell revealed that xAI plans to develop 1.2 gigawatts of power for its supercomputer facility as part of the administration’s “Ratepayer Protection Pledge.” This investment will ensure that the facility has enough backup power to support not just its operations, but also the city of Memphis and nearby Southaven, Mississippi.
“xAI builds huge supercomputers and data centers rapidly. We are currently constructing one on the Tennessee-Mississippi state line,” Shotwell said. “This installation will provide new substations and enhance the stability of the area’s electrical grid.”
