UPDATE: A tragic accident has claimed the life of a 41-year-old man from Parlier, California, early this morning. The collision occurred at 5:54 a.m. on American Avenue, just east of Del Rey Avenue, when his 2013 Dodge Challenger crashed into the rear of a 2024 Freightliner.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Challenger was traveling eastbound at high speed when it struck the semi-truck, which was slowing down to turn into the Pom Wonderful plant. The impact was devastating, causing the Freightliner to spin into oncoming traffic.
